Planet&People One: Our Impact 2025

Since 2023, Collective Action Investment Partners and Nordic Investment Opportunities (NIO) have been working in close collaboration on the Planet&People fund series: a multi-thematic fund-of-funds targeting specialist impact managers globally.  Two distinct organisations driven by a shared conviction: that the challenges threatening our planet and our societies are also the defining investment opportunity of this century.

Planet&People One

Since inception, we have believed that impact private markets hold the key to unlocking the capital needed to scale the solutions already emerging across water, circularity, food & agriculture, climate, healthcare, and education. That conviction became Planet&People One: a thematic impact private equity strategy built on deep, systemic research into each of these themes.

That bottom-up discipline has shaped every commitment we have made to date. It was our focus on industrial decarbonisation that led us to Ara Partners, and our conviction in the energy transition’s need for grid modernization, energy efficiency, and the decarbonization of transportation that pointed us toward Lime Rock New Energy. The same logic held in healthcare, where our thesis on accessible, affordable care, combined with the scale of impact that could be made in South and Southeast Asia, led us to Quadria Capital. Towards the end of last year, our deep-dive into the nexus of nature and food brought us to Just Climate, giving us access to solutions in the highest-emitting, most off-track corners of the food and land-use system.

Three years on, this approach continues to deliver. Across our portfolio, we have made considerable contributions to emissions avoidance, waste avoidance, and enhancing access to affordable and quality healthcare. Achieving this impact is the compounding result of deploying capital behind deep systemic research identifying managers who share our dual mandate of competitive returns and measurable impact.
